Day 01 – Arrival : Kathmandu ( 1350 m )
On your arrival , you will be warmly welcomed by our representative to be whisked away to your hotel. Over dinner, you will be given last minute briefing about your trek. Early lights out for the exhilirating adventure that begins the following day.
Day 02 – Fly to Lukla ( 2800 m )
You will take a short STOL flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Khumbu and Everest region. You embark on your trek with a effortless walk through the Chaurikharka village and head down to Dudhkoshi Ghat ( 2530 m ) . The trail runs alongside the Dudh Koshi River till you reach Phakding ( 2652 m ) where you will stay overnight and enjoy the remaining part of the day acclimatizing and enjoying the sights.
Day 03 – Phakding to Namche Bazaar ( 3440 m )
After breakfast, we make preparations for our climb to Namche Bazaar, the largest Sherpa village and the hub of mountaineering and trekking activity. Crossing a suspension bridge over the River Dudh Koshi, we hike our way through a pine forest to Monjo which is about 2 hours away. Soon after, we will arrive at the Sagarmatha National Park to get our permit checked, descend the Dudh Koshi River on our way to Jorsale. After lunch and Jorsale we ascend towards Namche Bazaar. Our trail along side the river bank is flanked by two crossings ( one of them is the Hillary Suspension Bridge. Though it is a strenuous climb up to Namche, we will be rewarded with our first sighting of Everest in all its stupendous glory.
Day 04 – Namche Bazaar ( 3440 m ) – Rest and Acclimatization
Namche is the threshold for this trek and we are given a very needed day of rest and acclimatization to such elevation. To further expedite your acclimatization, a two hour hike from here will take to Everest View Point; or you could simply spend your time browsing around Namche Bazaar. A visit to the Sherpa Museum will give you an insight into Sherpa culture and the history of mountaineering in the region.. Saturdays are reserved for the 'Haat Bazaar' and is an interesting occasion to sample the buzz of trading activity of the market place. This is the larger Namche Bazaar that deals in all kinds of trekking and mountaineering equipment and clothing.
Day 05 – Namche Bazaar to Tengboche ( 3870 m )
A hearty breakfast at Namche Bazaar will ensure our push towards Everest Base Camp. Amazing views of the Himalayan giants like Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde. A short descent will take us down to the riverside from where we will cross the river to head upwards through the forest pass. You need to physically and mentally prepare yourself for a continuous ascent at this stage, varying between gradual to some challenging steep climbs. Our reward will be one of the most enchanting places in the Everest Region, Tengboche. The view from here, including that of Ama Dablam, are stupendous. The stop at Tengboche Monastery ( the largest in the region ) will include a guided tour followed by chanting and prayers with the monks.
Day 06 – Tengboche to Dingboche ( 4400 m )
The trek today will take you through a rhododendron forest to Deboche ensued by a bridge over the Imja Khola River. We will navigate the valley wall and hike through the plains to Pangboche Village which is the biggest Sherpa settlement in the region. This is a great opportunity to intermingle and eat with the Sherpas; the adventurous at heart can take a short hike to the Pangboche Monastery, an ancient site. The afternoon trek will be quite rigorous as the landscape becomes slightly bleaker as we head towards Dingboche.
Day 07 – Dingboche ( 4400 m ) – Rest and Acclimatization
An opportunity to give those calf muscles some rest prior to your onward leg of the trek. You can utilize the full day exploring Dingboche and the surrounding valleys of Chhukung and Imja; the latter links up with Island Peak, the high passes of Amphu Laptsa and Makalu Barun National Park. The more adventurous can opt for a trek to the valleys to relish stupendous views, however, a good rest will do wonders for the ultimate climb the following day.
Day 08 – Dingboche to Lobuche ( 4900 metres )
The trek now is more gradual and strenuous due to the elevation. Followed by a long, steep and rigorous ascent to the top of a hill, we will pass Dungla. You will come across stupas built in memory of climbers and trekkers who died in Everest. The next leg takes you over rocky mountain terrain to Lobuche from where you will get breathtaking views of Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumori and and Nuptse. A chilly night as we are at very high elevation.
Day 09 - Lobuche to Gorakhsep and Everest Base Camp, then EBC to Gorakshep
Finally the big day has dawned. The trek starts with a gradual and fairly less challenging hike from Lobuche to Gorakshep. The ensuing straight trail to EBC is tougher and takes you through rocky dunes and moraine ( accumulation of glacial debris ). As we head towards our destination, we will encounter the Khumbu Glacier and ice fall on the slopes of Everest. If it happens to be spring, you will chance upon climbers either heading for the summit or making preparations for their ascent. A photo op is in the cards for some stunning views. As the sun drops low, we will make our way back to Gorakshep for a well deserved rest.
Day 10 - Gorakshep to Kalapathar ( 5545 metres ) and Pheriche ( 4230 metres )
Rising before daybreak, we trek to Kalapathar ( literally "black rock" ) for an amazing play of the sun's rays on the slopes of Everest that glow in various hues of pink and orange. The first light of day will also project views of Nuptse, Changtse and Lhotse. This is the penultimate moment of your adventure to capture astounding photos of Everest and its adjoining peaks. Back to Gorakshep for a hearty breakfast, after which we descend to Pheriche for the night. It is brisk hike down and much easier.
Day 11 – Pheriche to Namche ( 3440 metres )
The hike back from Pheriche to Tengboche is primarily downhill, but does require an hour's climb up a hill. Reach Namche in the late afternoon where we spend the last night in the mountains.
Day 12 - Namche to Phakding to Lukla ( 2800 meters )
Soon after fuelling ourselves with breakfast, we hike to the Hillary Suspension Bridge and negotiate numerous villages. Our last night in Namche is a reason for celebration with our team in the last of the tea houses. A bittersweet moment, but triumphant in the sense that you have accomplished a feat that many others simply dream about !!!
Day 13 - Lukla to Kathmandu ( 1350 metres )A short morning flight will take you to Kathmandu from where your adventure began and ends. Transfer to your hotel to unwind and bask in the glory of your escapade. A fare well dinner in one of the best restaurants in town will give you an opportunity to share your story, and of course, a chance for us to get a feedback.
Day 14 - Kathmandu : Departure
Your final day in Nepal. A good breakfast, last minute souvenir hunting after which you will be efficiently transferred to Tribhuvan International Airport. We will part ways, but with warm memories and a knapsack full of amazing photos to show to family and friends back home. END OF OUR SERVICES
